92 S-10 lifters

My 92 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4 X 4, 4.3 W engine seems to have a bad lifter, I haven't seen a lifter since I changed lifter in a 67 SS-396 several years back. Can someone give me the scoop on doing this. I haven't pulled the valve covers yet, plan on doing that come Monday morning.

A few months back I replaced the fuel rack, so if its a lifter surely I can take care of that.

Re: 92 S-10 lifters

I did not get no replies, but I will tell how it goes so far.

I had my oil change about 1000 miles ago. Today I decided to change it my self, putting 5W 30W Penn oil, but replacing one quart of it with a quart of Rislone. As of right now it runs perfectly, but time will tell.

I know some don't care for Rislone very much being as its an old time additive. But I thought I would give it a try, no great loss if it does not work, but much gain if it does. I've used it before in the past with great results, and I know many who have used it and says its great stuff and many times will cure lifter problems..

Re: 92 S-10 lifters

I've put a few miles on my Blazer, the lifter no longer sticks. Yesterday I changed my oil again, add 1/2 quart of Rislone to my 5W-30W oil. Today I drove it a bit over 100 miles, seems it runs as smooth & quite as it did when it was brand new.

I highly recommend Rislone, it can work miracles, sure glad I tried it before tearing my engine down.

In the midwest we have a product called SeaFoam Motor tune. I have yet to see it not work on a stuck hydraulic lifter. It has many other uses as well!
