How difficult is it to change the tie rod ends on the windstar. I am getting that moaning sound from the tie rods running dry. They are the original ones that came with the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 1996 Windstar tie rod ends
The outer tie rod ends are very easy to change. The only special tool needed is a puller. The rest can be done with two open end wrenches and a pair of pliers. You'll need to have a front end alignment done once the new tie rod ends are installed.

Re: 1996 Windstar tie rod ends
a few days before attempting this job I'd suggest you liberally spray some penetrating fluid on the nuts/threads such as PB blaster. I know when I last did mine they were really tough to loosen and some soaking time may help that.

Re: 1996 Windstar tie rod ends
Thanks for the advice. I will start spraying them now while i get the tie rods that way it will be easier for me to get them off.
