'02 Axiom tranny issue

Ok, recently the transmission in my '02 Axiom has started slipping/surging but only when the a/c is running. If the a/c is off the tranny shifts fine. No check engine or tranny lights have come on. Someone told me it might be the airflow sensor going bad which could be confusing the computer. Any help/ideas would be greatly apreciated.
