'02 Impala 3.4: Broken Wire Under Driver's Seat

Just noticed the other day while cleaning the interior that there's a broken wire underneath the driver's seat. From memory, I think it's a dual-wire thing into a plug-like thing. Looks like it was cut clean off, but I think it happened by moving the seat back and forth. Anybody know what this wire is for? Don't seem to have any codes or problems right now (except the P401 EGR, which comes and goes ... needs cleaning, I'm guessing).

I guess that makes sense, but you'd think there would be some kind of warning lamp on and there isn't any. Regardless, I just need to reconnect it. If I remember right, I think the wire was actually pulled out of the back of some molded plug-like thing. Didn't look very easy to fix because there aren't two wires that can just be twisted back together. Can only shove the wire back into the molded plug. Might have to get a plug replacement...

when you drive vehicle do you get the seat belt nag chime / lamp flash...if not this must be the disconnected wire connector..

It's probably the wiring for the seat heater or the motorized seat. Even if you don't have that option, the wiring is still there.

Re: '02 Impala 3.4: Broken Wire Under Driver's Seat

Yeah - that makes even more sense. I don't have the power (or heated) seat. I purposely do NOT buy the power seat because it would end up constantly going back and forth which would result in premature failure.

Maybe I'll just leave it broken now. It's been that way for a while, I think, without any noticeable effect...
