Smile 95 monte carlo engine swap, 3800

I would like to know if any kind of 3800 is compatible with a 95 monte carlo? i.e. motor mounts and also if it would bolt to a 3100 trans. or would I need a 3800 trans and would that mount to the car, lol

motor was blown and I'm looking for something a lil' bigger (18 year old)

Re: 95 monte carlo engine swap, 3800

If you wanna cheat a lil bit jus use a 38 trans too and check out my post for some info that will help you a lot. It's the "3.4 DOHC to 3.8 Supercharged in 96 Monte Z34" post on www.montecarloclub.com/discuss/viewforum.php?f=2. I got a post on this site too but haven't got any help, this forum isn't very active for Monte owners.

Thanks for the help, I checked out your post and it helped alot.. Did you look into the part numbers? I need to know if it'll mount up to the frame and all.

Re: 95 monte carlo engine swap, 3800

I haven't checked out the part numbers yet cuz I haven't started the swap. I got some other things I gotta take care of first (my woman and bills). It's a pretty simple thing to verify though if you want to look into it yourself. Check with some different GM dealers and several places online to make sure your getting accurate information. Try to contact other Monte owners that have put diffferent motors and transmissions in their cars. If you need any more help I'll do what I can for ya, just ask on this site or the Monte Carlo Club site and myself or other Monte enthusiasts will try to help you out.
