85 500sel no start.

I have an 85 500sel. a few months ago it stalled a few times. Did a complete tune-up with fuel filter, and have had no problems until the other day. It stalled and now won't start.

The fuel pump is running, I have no fire, and the abs light is on (has been for a while).

Could the OVR relay be the cause? Is there a way to test it? Is there a way to test the ignition module? Could that be the culprit? Where is the OVR relay? Is it the big black one in the fuse panel on the driver’s inner fender or is it elsewhere?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Abs light is a for sure indication the relay is bad. Check the fuse on top of the relay first though -make sure its not blown. If the relay looks corroded -all nasty- just replace it. Very common problem for the early to mid 80's cars.- It should be right behind the battery,

If not behind the battery look on the driver's side at the windshield cowling. With this old of a car i would just replace it with a new one to save headaches down the road.

You may want to get a wiring diagram and make sure the ignition unit has voltage to it.
