Hi everyone,
I've searched all over the place and I can't seem to find an answer to my specific problem. If there is one, sorry, I guess I didn't search good enough.
Anyway, as you know, I have a 1998 S-10 5 speed with a 2.2L engine. When I'm driving, my truck will randomly start to die (kind of a jittering die). It seems to be an electrical problem because when it dies, all my gauges peg zero. I know that it is still getting fuel because when it dies it dumps fuel in the exhaust and after-fires, but this is just an assumption.
Another weird thing it does, is when it dies, my ABS starts acting up and eventually the dummy light comes on. I don't know if that's just cause my tires are skidding when it dies and its trying to counter that or what. I tried removing the fuse to the ABS, but that was no help.
I've checked the wire loop behind my glove box, under the dash and under the hood a bit for loose connections or bare wires, but nothing seems to be out of the normal. A few people told me to check the ignition switch by wiggling it when it happens, but that didn't do anything either. I also tried banging on the column, but same results.
If anybody could hook me up with some advice, that would be wonderful!
Thanks much.
