Bronco II transmission compatibility
Hi, I have an 89 bronco II 5-speed with a bad transmission. (Go figure.) And I am wondering what years are compatable with it? If I could find a newer unit in a salvage yard maybe less prone to failure that would be great, but I don't know what to look for.
*edit: this is a 6 cyclinder

Mods- PI top end swap, C&L plenum, 75mm throttle body, 03 mustang gt intake tube, airbox, 80mm MAFS, 300hp+ J-Mod, tuned really hot by Lonnie at Blue Oval Chips with an sct X3, mid length dual exhaust with mandrel bent X-pipe and turndowns
Up next- aluminum driveshaft, 22c plugs, 180 degree thermostat and a tune to match, polyurethane EVERYTHING, possibly lowering springs
