2006 V6 AWD, real-world MPG?

Hi there,

I'm thinking about picking up an '06 Vue with 3.5L V6 and AWD because they have great prices on the used market, and on paper the fuel mileage is surprisingly good for the size of the vehicle. I read somewhere in the neighbourhood of 19/25 city/highway, which is similar to the 173 horse Hyundai Tucson V6 AWD, which I was also considering. Is this possible - that a bigger, heavier and much more powerful SUV actually gets this kind of mileage? If any owners out there can take the time to post their average observed MPG's, that'd be great.

Thanks guys!

Re: 2006 V6 AWD, real-world MPG?

Hey there,
I noticed that it has been awhile since you posted this question, but in a word -- YES! My 06 Vue 3.5 V6 AWD does get 20 -25 mpg on average per tank. That includes both city and highway driving. Just highway mileage can get close to 30 mpg if you doing about 55-60 mph. I have put on about 25,000 miles since I bought it used, it now has 47,000. I have enjoyed it very much.

Hey thanks for the post! I appreciate it. This vehicle is still high on our list, and just got a bit higher.

Cheers.
