OBD2 Code P1423?
Anyone have an idea on this code for a Camry Hybrid? The internet is blank on this one.
Car has only 4500 miles, so it's probably a "better get my oil change" light for the first change... but want to be sure. Does anyone have a full list of the codes anywhere for this car? Nothing online that I have seen... either free or for sale... |

Re: OBD2 Code P1423?
I too couldn't find anything on this code for a Toyota. Why not just take the car in to to your dealer. Isn't your car still under warranty?

Re: OBD2 Code P1423?
Dealer is an hour away and I've already taken it in for the stupid gas cap not being on tight enough, which I could have fixed myself. So, rather than spend several hours driving to find out something stupid, I was hoping I could get a line on the code....
Even the official repair manual doesn't have these codes (not that I've found yet anyway...) |

Re: OBD2 Code P1423?
From searching P1423 = "EGI functionality test failed", whatever that means. Try google or try calling Toyota corporate at 1-800-331-4331 and see if a customer service rep can tell you what it means.
Good luck. Mike |

Re: OBD2 Code P1423?
Here's a discussion on the "Green Hybrid" forum: http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f...e-p1423-18983/
Looks like the code is the product of a loose gas cap. If you look about 2/3 of the way down the web page (post #9), someone posted the TSB explaining this code. Good luck |
