2001 Century Backup Lights
The backup lights are out on my 2001 Century Limited. I replaced the bulbs but that did not fix the problem. The brake, tail and license plate lights all work. There are no other lighting or accessory problems with the car. The car runs fine and has approximately 79,000 miles on it. Is there a fuse that I can replace to fix this problem or is an electrical system test of some kind needed? Any help is appreciated!

Re: 2001 Century Backup Lights
Welcome to AF.
Check to make sure 12 volts is present at one side of the lamp socket and the ground is good. If that is bad then check the fuse marked R/CMPT REL (7.5A). The backup lamps are controlled by a Backup Lamp Relay and the Transaxle Range Switch.

Re: 2001 Century Backup Lights
Well I'm finally getting around to fix the backup light problem with my 2001 Century. However I am having trouble locating the fuse marked R/CMPT REL (7.5A). I'm not sure which of two fuse boxes it may be in (dash or under hood). The fuse box references in the owners manual do not identify this fuse. Is there any help that you can provide on the specific location of this fuse? Thanks.
