tranny conversion

how hard would it be to install a manual tranny in a blazer that was a auto?

Different bell housing, different drive shaft, possibly a different crossmember, flywheel instead of flex plate on the engine, complete clutch linkage, clutch master and slave cylinders, brackets, lines, etc. Different PCM, wiring harness under dash for starter interlock, different brake pedal & linkage, and depending on wheather your shifter is on the floor or on the column now, the shift interlock will need to be re-worked. Off the top of my head, that's a start. I'm sure if I thought about it, I could come up with more. Maybe someone that has done it will chime in.

its an 86 2 door i dont have the vin right now. but it donsent have a engine or tranny so i get to start from scratch. i was just wondering what trannys were good. i am pretty sure it had a 700r4.

The 700R4 was used on a lot of V8 engines and is actually over-kill on a 4.3L V6. Good choice for your Blazer.

ok sounds easy to find a 700r4 to put in used ones are all over on craigslist. i will probably get one and have it rebuilt.
