2000 Taurus fuel gauge
Just purchased a 2000 Taurus with 114,000 miles. It is not a flex fuel car. The gas gauge stopped working after the first fill up. It reads full until it gets almost to empty. I have read alot of forums about flex fuel cars and how to correct the problems in a flex fuel car but I havent read anything about the cause or solution for reg. fuel cars. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have been reading thru these posts and found some threads from a couple of years ago concerning the same problem I am experiencing. Mainly the gas gauge reading incorrectly and the possible solution of changing the sending unit in the tank. Will talk to my mechanic this week to see how much it cost to change and will report back incase anyone else needs info to correct their problem
