engine swap issues

I have a 1993 f150. I had to change the engine. The engine I found, was out of a 1995 f150, both engines are a 5.0L. The firing order for the 1993 was 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 and the firing order for the 1995 is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. I have the engine in and it is running really rough. I left in the original distributor for the 1995. Do I need to change the distributor or the camshaft to make it run correctly? I put the wires on the distributor the same as it would be on the 1993 firing order. The engine sounds like it is running on 6 cylinders.

Re: engine swap issues

did you replace the entire engine or use parts from both engines?
