Stupid City, Stupid Roads.

god if there is one thing i really hate about my city, that is its road maintence and construction.

Every summer, they spend a bunch on money on chip sealing the roads. (For those who don't know what chipseal is, they basicly throw down a layer of tar and put rocks on top, and let traffic flatten it down) So for about a month in the summer, i have to take all these detours and shit. Plus not to mention a bunch of gravel gets thrown up at your car.

So anyways, every winter the roads start to fall apart. After a dry summer and fall, and when it starts to rain all the oil comes up out of the road and it makes the roads really slippery, and the 'pavement' breaks apart.

So now i have to drive on a bumpy, slippery, cracked and uneven surface.

I dont understand why they can't just spend the money on repaving the roads, so they dont have to resurface them for another couple years.

There i think I'm done.

w3rd, I've only spent 2 days of my life on Van island, but it has SHITE roads. Love the parts of town where the wax museum is and the submarine. Lesson for the day - politicians are idiots. Always. Oz.

You know, when they've put new chipseal on you're supposed to SLOW DOWN. The fuckers should put some signs up to tell people to slow down, not to mention its plain common sense. Also, after a few days they should sweep it clear. That's what they do here...maybe your council is just fucking stupid.

Pardon language. Bad week.

I've been on the submarine, it was fun

Anyways I do drive slow on the chipsealed, and assholes always tailgate me.

People where i live are really bad drivers, today on the way home from school some guy came out of a hidden driveway, and he didn't even stop or anything. He just swung out in front of me, no signal, and proceeded to go 10kph slower than the speed limit for a block or two. Then he missed his turn and did a 3 point turn in the middle of the road and went back....

I didn't know you lived in Pittsburgh, PA. Dude, PennDOT is the SUCKIEST DOT I think ever... They tar and chip (same process as above) It's a nightmare on a motorcycle. :o NOT fun.

Not to mention that even when they "repave" they usually only fix segments of the road so that the rest of the road still sucks. Oh, and when they are repaving, they'll do so in the MOST inconvenient manner possible. Pittsburgh has 4 seasons, alright: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction. :o

HA! try the Potholes in Massachusetts, they're practically around for most of the damned year....and all they do is put fresh tar into the hole...only to get scraped out by the snowplows and the ever-changing New England weather...they're total murder on one's car...hit enough of them, and either your tires will burst or warp, your wheels/rims might get damaged, if you have the stock steel wheels with hubcaps, consider your hubcaps as lost or broken, your whole suspension could become mushy like soggy rice krispies, scratches on your paint, your whole undercarriage could be banged up, your exhaust system....ohh boy don't even go there...too bad to even explain...and when the snow melts or there's alot of rain, they appear as simple puddles....yeah totally shitty, avoid them at all costs......

Utah's roads, are, for the most part, really good. So are Nevada's. Worst I've even been on are California's, in the Northern part, and probably because that state's broke.

However, the drivers suck here. Someone threw a sandwich out of their car the other day, so now I have lettuce, bread, and mayonnaise on my front spoiler.

Amen to that. My front bumber is screwed up, and at least 3 of my shocks are dead on my from these damn potholes. That and some sorta of linkage is broken in my front left too, making it all that much worse. POS roads. Not to mention, i pay $140 a year for a parking sticker to park in a dirt lot with a billion other cars, you'd think that they'd use the money to fix the goddamn roads around this damn campus.
