To add to this, if you subscribe to their emails, they will send you notifications of sales like the one in the above post as well as overstock sales, manufacturer discounts and rebates tailored to the vehicles you own. This makes it easy to partake in the specials knowing your make and model vehicle is included. They also have a monthly newsletter they send out which also has specials on parts they sell.

Why in heavens name did you have to post that?! Now Im tempted to max out my credit card with things I might need someday.

Nice find though. Im really tempted to get a set of those Raybestos ceramics. Thats what Ive got on at the moment, and theyre still goin strong.

Hmm...I just subscribed to their newsletter but wasn't asked for anything other than my email.

Perhaps they changed their newsletter signup procedure since I signed up a few years ago. Another thing that just crossed my mind is that maybe they also pull information from my previous orders with them as to the vehicles I purchased parts for to alert me to offers and specials geared towards those vehicles. Some sites do this by letting customers save info about their vehicles,(another site, tirerack.com has a "saved garage" where you can put info on the vehicles you own to make it easier when you visit the site again.)
The rockauto newsletter will still give you advanced notice of upcoming sales and rebate /offers from their suppliers on the parts they carry. Most of the time this info is first available to their customers who subscribe than their general customer base.
