2000 gtp wont idle
hello i have a 2000 gtp. just the other day i had an issue.. at idle my car dies... if you hold it to the floor that is the only way it will stay running. it is not a fuel pump changed that then changed it again to make sure.. hooked up fuel pressure gauge turn key on goes up to 48 psi... start it goes up to 55 psi then start bleeding off pressure rapidly unless i hold it to the floor... then when car dies fuel pressure goes right back up to 48 psi... any ideas i am lost fuel filter not that old either but chaning it tomorrow let me know need help thanks...

It could be your fuel pressure regulator? Pull off the vacuum hose and see if you smell gasoline fumes or if gas comes out of the vacuum hose. But with the pressure bleeding down like it is also could be fuel leak. Do you smell any gasoline fumes.

You may have a bad fuel pump resistor. There is a proceedure in our tips and maintenance sub-forum on how to bypass it to test.

I keep forgetting about the fuel pump resistor. I get a demotion point on me. LOL
