To all the regulars and lurkers

wow huh?

Here's the thing.

I understand how it feels to think that what you do isn't at the same level as someone else, or you know...it's like "crap! now I can't post because there's all these magazine guys and super awesome car art guys there now"

well I'm here to tell you, the reality is the exact opposite of that. Those of us not at the top level (and believe me, when I hang out at places like the burg I am made very aware of my skill level on a frequent basis) anyway...those of us that are not at the top level benefit the most by having the really top notch folk around. It is by posting our art and getting their insight and years of experience input on what we do that we gain by leaps and bounds.

The great artists that will be coming over here to share are here for you. Many of them will tell you of their experiences as they were up and coming and many will have tales of how someone with more experience helped them.

That is why you guys need to post your stuff.

I learned a while ago that this auto art thing is not a competition. There is no "better than". We are all on our own growth paths and since the amount of work far exceeds the amount of us, we are not competing with each other. That being the case it's through the sharing of our works regardless of skill level that we all experience growth.

The coolest part is that as you grow, you can in turn extend a hand to the next up and comer.

It really is awesome if you think about it.

So basically what I'm sayin is yeah, there's some bada_s dudes over here of late, but they are here to learn and grow with you, so take advantage. Post up.

Re: To all the regulars and lurkers

that's what I mean.

I too get artimidated by these cats but I have learned over time that the best thing to do is take advantage of the fact that they are here.

Use it as an opportunity to get some feedback on your work from them. That's one of the ways they got to where they are. You and all of us have the opportunity to follow and learn just like them.

That's exciting to me.

So post up GB

sketches, lineart, whatever.

If we don't then there really isn't a community and then people leave.
