2005 Avalanche "Service Stability" message, then dead truck
2005 Avalanche 5.3, 70,000 miles
Have owned truck 4 months, zero problems. Driving down the road last night, lost power steering so glanced at message board. It read "Service Stability" and the entire truck lost power. Engine dead, all gauges pegged at zero, warning lights lit up, then rolled to a stop on side of road. Disconnected battery cables (praying for a system reset) but 15 minutes later still no luck. Any of this sound familiar to anyone ? Thanks |

Is the battery dead?
What is battery voltage?

Re: 2005 Avalanche "Service Stability" message, then dead truck
Just a thought but are you able to shut off the stabiltrak system ? I know on my 07 I can shut off the stabiltrak system by pressing and holding the traction control button, first it will display that the traction control is off then after maybe 4-5 seconds it displays "stabiltrak off" message. Maybe shutting off the system that is causing the problem may allow you to be able to start it and get it in for service. Just a thought and good luck.
