My 1st Track Experience

well i finally went to the track for the first time today. i never been racing before so it was an awesome experince, and i learned and practiced using the tree system.

so i ran my moms accord done the track three times, to get a feel for it, so i know what to expect when i get my crx done. i didnt launch right on the first two runs, but the third i got the hang of it, some more practice and ill be much better. My accord is the 4cyl automatic too, so dont hate.

here are my times:

1. 2003 Honda Accord Vs. 2002 Subaru WRX

1.231-----------------R/T--------------.936
2.495-----------------60'--------------2.155
7.119-----------------330-------------6.143
10.907----------------1/8--------------9.461
65.15-----------------mph-------------73.82
14.173---------------1000-------------.000(timing error)
16.930----------------1/4--------------14.724
81.29-----------------mph--------------92.62

2. 2003 Honda Accord Vs. 2002 BMW 330ci

1.079-----------------R/T--------------.802
2.499-----------------60'--------------2.602
7.099-----------------330-------------6.660
10.870----------------1/8--------------9.967
65.46-----------------mph-------------74.06
14.123---------------1000-------------1.249(timing error)
16.872----------------1/4--------------15.172
81.48-----------------mph--------------94.84

3. 2003 Honda Accord Vs. 2003 Audi S4

.680-----------------R/T--------------.557
2.517-----------------60'--------------1.934
7.124-----------------330-------------5.746
10.897----------------1/8--------------8.908
65.41-----------------mph-------------78.66
14.146---------------1000-------------.11.575
16.888----------------1/4--------------13.866
81.66-----------------mph--------------99.20

yeah the crx is about half done now, ive started putting in all my performance parts, i hope to run high 13's to low 14's with it here are my mods so tell me if my ideas are off.

B16A, CTR cams and pistons, Crower SS valves, BPM Dual Valve Springs, Crower Titianium Retainers, Eagle Rods, AEM knockoff intake, DC Header, Catco High Flow Cat, Apex Muffler with custom 2-1/4" mandrel bent pipes, iridium plugs, bosch 8mm wires, and the fastest autobox in the world(ok just kidding, its stock) but i maybe getting a new torque convertor.

tell me if you think this setup can get me into the 13's even 13.999 i dont care.

thats it, i was hoping mid 14's by the swap itself, im going all motor for now, but i may do like a 50shot later down the line, will my 13:1(or so) compression ratio hold this?

Sounds like a nice build to me. 13:1 compression is high as a kite. Are you gonna have to run a race blend all the time? Keep an eye on those ti retainers. They have a high tensile strength but they aren't very ductile meaning they wear more quickly over time. I would check them about once a year or ever 20-30,000 miles. I would say a 50 shot should work for you. Make to to retard your timing about 2 degrees and I would run a higher octane UNLEADED race fuel when spraying to avoid detonation. Good luck and you could get a good gain in mid to high RPM power with a set of nice cams. I don't remember you mentioning them.

You'd be lucky to hit mid 14s with that setup.

Civickiller - How the hell are you getting .1 and .2 RTs? Thats a redlight!

Just go with ctr pistons. U will be fine running nitrous with that set up. And i'm with Siz on ur expected time at the track. If it was manual u would hit high 13s no problem

on a regular light(one light at a time then green) a .02-.05 is a good light. .00 is the best. on a pro tree(all three light up at the same time) .400 is redlight.
