Denso/NGK Iridum Pugs - Your opinion and/or experience?

Hi All,

I presently have two running LT1s with iridium plugs. One is a 1995 Impala SS with an LT1 383 and it has Denso iridium plugs. The other is a 1996 Z28 LT1 with NGK iridium plugs.

I have been told by a few people that these iridim plugs will not last long in a Chevy small-block because they are designed for the small four cylinders.

What are your experiences?

I'm personally leaning towards AC-Delco double platinums.

The Impala group swears by the Ac DElco Iridiums!!! They say the engine only likes these. Others will need to be changed much more often.

Well, I like iridium due to the long life. A few bucks more though.

Re: Denso/NGK Iridum Pugs - Your opinion and/or experience?

I understand that the iridiums last longer, which is good thing considering what a pain it is to change sparkplugs on fbodies.

However, what I'd like to know is if anyone has noticed a significant difference in milegae and/or performance between the iridiums and the platinums.

Anybody who religiously tracks their gas mileage or knows of dyno tests?

I couldn't answer that. But one more thing. Use great care while checking the gap. You could ruin thetip very easily.

Yeah I've never messed with the gapping on them because of how fine the tips are. Plus they come pre-gapped.

I pulled on of the Denso iridum plugs out to check the other day and it seems to holding up fine.
