Impala Tire Rod/ Coolant Leak
I own a 2000 impala ls. It has 107k miles on it. When im driving i hear a c=knocking noise when i turn and whe i go over bumps. I think its my tired rod and or ball joints...because i feel it in the steering wheel, do you think im right. Also, i think my coolant is leaking. If so, how much would it cost to fix each???

when turning and because of the age ,,I would say you need CV joints replaced,,,especially if this has been driven for a time like this...have a service centre check this for you... as to your coolant leak,,,this cost could mean a very small amount , like $20.oo to just trade it in for a new vehicle.... the cost will depend on how you maintained the coolant system...If its all corroded by lack of proper coolant to distilled water just get rid of it..once the engine is corroded its junk... |

wat do you mean by $20 to trade it in....i spoke to some one at advanced autoparts and they said it may be either the hose or worst case the radiator....

since this is just purchased from a dealership, return for diagnosis.. you have no knowledge of how the vehicle was maintained....If the coolant system is corroded/improper coolant used ,,,no coolant[antifreeze] just water, this I would return to dealership for another vehicle... If its the water pump or some other componet is defective, that is a normal wear item then have it repaired/replaced. |
