A/C doesn't have leak but....????
Yes I'm still having issues with my air conditioning. Finally getting some warm weather and my A/C quit. I bought the dye and couldn't find any leaks. After recharging the system, I drove the car for about 3 hours and then I lost the cold air. I looked again with the "black light" and nothing. Could this be my compressor. Is there a spot that I should be looking for a leak that isn't so obvious ?? Condensor looks fine. Both corners show nothing. Could the compressor leak and not show dye?? Please help before I buy another useless part. Thanks.

Re: A/C doesn't have leak but....????
Mine was leaking off the front of the compressor at the shaft seal. It was very obvious because there was coolant slung on the underside of the hood. As it would leak out, it would spray it upward. From what I understand, this is a common point for leakage. The shaft seal leak will progressively worsen over time.

Ahhhh I will shine light up under the hood. I would think this would show up elsewhere though. I made quite a mess putting this in. They should warn you of this. Thanks.

Remember freon is heavier than air so check at the lower areas of each component, also how about the evap core, check in the drain tube for this you will need a high line " sniffer"

If its leaking then it must be somewhere. Sounds like a leak at the exchanger which is next to the heater core. There could be some leak detect oil in there.
