1999 Cav - Replacing Stereo and Speakers
Hi
I had an aftermarket stereo (Pioneer DEH-1700) in my old 1994 Saturn SL2 and I still have all the wires connected to the harness that came with it so could I just plug that harness straight into the plug coming from the Cavalier? There is already an after market Jensen stereo in the car but I have a Pioneer one that's better and I'm wanting to replace it. Does anyone know where I could find a good step by step dash removal instruction set since I've heard that it has to be removed to replace the stereo? Also, does the entire door panel have to be removed to replace the front speakers or just the bottom half? (Assuming it does have a top and bottom half) I read that there is some kind of metal clip that has to be removed from manual windows? Where and when do you pull that out? As far as the rear speakers, I read that you must remove one of the side armrest sections so that you can then pop out the 4 push pins to lift out the carpeted covering. How do the armrest sections come out? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: 1999 Cav - Replacing Stereo and Speakers
Also, the speakers I plan on installing are all four 6 -1/2" speakers. I know you have to have conversion plates for the doors but do you have to have any kind of modification to allow this size to fit in the rear deck?
Thanks
