Clear Coat on Laquer
i was wondering if clear coating tamiya laquer will give it a better shine or will it hurt it more than help?

The general rule here is not to mix lacquers with enamels. You shouldn't have any problems "clearcoating a clearcoat".

Clearcoats always help if applied right. It deepens the color and shine making it giving the model a, as I like to say it, "deep gloss competition paint job". After all, all real cars made with the exception of early (50's) ones have clearcoat.
