Help finding turbo diesel list

My mother came to me with a question I figured you guys would be the best to help with so here goes:

She is looking for a mercedes turbo diesel or even just a diesel, but is having trouble finding info on them (she is looking for older used cars). The hardest part if finding what the models where that were diesels or turbo diesels. Does anyone know where to find a list of such cars by model? As far back as 82 if possible.

Thanks!

Mercedes diesel list

You can find out almost anything about Mercedes diesels on the diesel forum: [email protected]
One of the most desireable Mercedes diesels was the 1987 300D Turbo. It was imported only one year and was unique because it had a 3 liter, six cylinder diesel-turbocharged! Mileage was amazing at 30+mpg. The 124 body was built like a tank and drove like a block of iron. This was the fastest diesel Mercedes ever imported until 1999 when the newer TDI diesels appeared briefly. They came with a sunroof, dual memory driver's seat, and MBtex seating which wears better than leather or cloth. The 300D Turbo appeared in Mercedes 100th year of car manufacturing. It is fairly rare because of the demand for this particular model. Of the ones imported, many had scary color combinations, and many were not cared for until they were rescued by another buyer. P.

Another forum that you can research is www.benzworld.org. There is a huge amount of information MB owners swap on that site. My suggestion for a good MB diesel is the '77-'85 300 series. They are built very well, last almost forever and are relatively low priced ($2000 to $4000). The ones for sale tend to have a lot of mileage on them but that may not be an issue if the car was taken care of.
