Making a big engine swap

I have a 1984 Camaro it had a 173cid 6 cylinder in it i want to drop a 350 into it what are the changes im gonna have to do beside the rear end. i also would like to know what a good transmission would be for it (it is a automatic). what im doing to the 350 is forge the bottom end while keeping it stock and putting a cam and if i can find'em put double hump heads on. at some point i want to run nitrous. what would be a good rear end for it much appreciated in advance.

Re: Making a big engine swap

all depends on what you want to do for the street you could beef up the stock rear end
as for a trans same deal for the street i would get a good rebuilt 700r4 then you wont have to deal with a different drive shaft
the only other change you will have to do is motor mounts but you could get them at a salvage yard if you keep it simple it will be simple ya know
check out www.jegs.com and www.summitracing.com for parts for the rear end and other misc
depending on your budget www.boetieoverdrives.com is a good trans resource
