Thermostat Question

Is there a good way to get at the bottom bolt of the thermostat housing? Seems that I'll have to take off the PS pump, which seems like a lot of work for a simple thermostat replacement...

Any good way to get this thing off without removing the PS pump?

Thanks!

Arrow Re: Thermostat Question

I just replaced the thermostat on my 02 trailblazer. The thermostat is on the driver side below/behind the alternator. I had to remove the alternator, battery and housing along with the driver side wheel. By moving these components out of the way, the thermostat replacement went quick (5 min.). Make sure you have a LONG socket extension.

Re: Thermostat Question

you can squeeze thru the wheel housing with special extentions and universals. It can be done without removing the alternator. It is of a high skill level
