99 Intrigure External Temp and Recirculate

My 3.8L Intrigue Auto Climate control readout for external temp is about 20 deg low. It varys but low. I replace the Ambient sensor and it was the same. How long should I wait for it to update?

Second issue is the recirculate buttons do not lite or seem to work. The A/C seems to be working and the vent direction (floor, vent, defrost) is working. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Brian

Re: 99 Intrigure External Temp and Recirculate

The temperature should become accurate within a few minutes at the most.

It sounds to me like the actual control unit might be bad. Theyre not terribly expensive on Ebay, not sure how much a new one is. But I hate to tell you to buy one without knowing for sure.

You dont know anyone else with an Intrigue do you? I live in Missouri if you wanna drive 10+ hours to try mine haha.

Re: 99 Intrigure External Temp and Recirculate

Litttlehov thanks for the reply. I tried the new sensor again and it worked right away. I must have brain dead the first time or the external and internal temps were close and I did not pay attention to the display.

Also, for those working this problem. The voltage sent from the controller at the sensor connector is ~5V and a good sensor measures ~8000 ohms (my bad one was 800K-1M ohm).

Now how about the recirculate problem! Not ready to drive to Missouri.

Great news, the recirculate controls work. The problem is the lights on the buttons do not lite when selected. Will live with that. Anyone else seen this issue.

I had the same issue on my Intrigue (RIP). you have to pay attention to the symbols on the display rather than the lights since they will burn out in time.
