Unhappy 1988 lincoln town car

car turns over refuses to start wait 2 minutes and then starts not all time has some blow by but when it runs its a dream machine help takes for ever to start sometimes

Sounds like the anti theft module is going bad. Is the anti theft light flashing when you crank it?

Oil Blow By. I would guess he is going through DPFE and Vacuum Solenoids. Might want to try the basics, Air, Fuel And Spark. Then get back to us.

meaning of blow by is when oil is getting into air intake something like that

air fuel and spark are fine normal runs fine just takes forever to start and sometimes it fires right up its a real pain

yes. It clogs at the back of the intake.

could it be the vapour inlet port mybe plugged would cause the hard starting

on this 88 towncar has fuel has spark and doe,s run like a dream but refused to start today so turned over and over etc had a can of brake cleaner gave it a shot and it started right up its like id have to prime it first to make it start running out of ideas what,s causing the start problem d

Fuel pressure is low. I would check and replace the fuel pump.

persay if the fuel pump has low pressure would,nt the car run bad because u step on it hard u tear some tread

Possibly, but I have seen fuel pumps do this. Just have someone put a gauge on it and check the pressure.

Fuel filter could be clogged. It's an easy thing to replace, but no one ever pays attention to it. I would check that first.
