RIP Caprice Classic LS 94-09

This time my Caprice has really died and kicked the can. The transmission blew out on a simple trip to the flea market this morning, making crunching sounds and bucking like a wild bull to even just staying in "N" and not getting out.

She will be missed, and despite her problems, has kept me safe and happy to have been a Caprice owner.

Sadly, I can't afford a rebuild and will be forced to sell her. And if she can't be sold, sadly she'll need to go to where all cars end their life.

Yes, my car was a She.

RIP.. 1994-2009..

Sorry to hear about your ride.
You probably won't get much for it with a blown trans but you never know.
Maybe the LT1 can find a home in another project of yours or someone elses..

RIP little Caprice

Try and find a used tranny.

If you do try and sell it let us know. I have a friend with a white 9C1 who would like a white Caprice that does not have a decade and a half of salt damage.

Re: RIP Caprice Classic LS 94-09

She may live yet. I have found a 99k mile tranny I can put in it for $570. I figure, what the hell, worth a shot, since being verified that my R and 3rd gear are stripped...

If you do the tranny swap make sure you clean the tranny coolant lines/radiator tranny core..

Re: RIP Caprice Classic LS 94-09

Mechanic still has the car. This is taking an awful lot of time.

I hope they ordered the right tranny, remembering this is a 94 L99 with OBDI, and NOT a later OBDII model with an LT1..

EAGER!!!!

Got it back, she's like a new car!! Shifting feels so different now, so does the throttle response for some odd reason.
