cav. sutting off while driving

have a 2004 cav. 5 speed while driving my car seem to loose all motor power. rpm stays about the same but when i give it gas nothing happen, once i throw the shifter in neutral rpms will drop off to zero and engine dies. Ill shift to lower gear and let off the clutch and it will fire back up. sometimes i have to go all the way down to first gear before it fires up. changed the fuel filter ran good 4 two days. but this morning going to work done the same thing to me. any other ideas?

Re: cav. sutting off while driving

Check the fuel pressure when it dies, probably have to tape the gauge to the windshield so you can watch it while you drive. Check codes if you haven't already.
