looking for a little advice

I've got a 89 chrysler non turbo daytona and i want to put a 2.2 stage 1 turbo engine from a 88 plymouth voyager van in it. i got the engine with all the wiring, i was told i need the computer but im not sure if i can use the one from the van or if i should go to the junk yard and get one from a turbo daytona. From what i can tell i also need a different throttle cable, would the one from the van work or does it need to be from a daytona also. I also need to know if my fuel pump is good enough for the stage one turbo. Also my rack and pinion steering is shot and im thinking of upgrading it, would the shelby daytona have a better one or maybe something out of a different car, what would be my best option. I'd appreciate any time you can spare to answer these questions when ever it's convenient for you, you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Re: looking for a little advice

I'm looking for someone who can help me find information on the 1992 and 1993 Dodge Daytona Iroc R/T. Back in late 1993 to early 1994, a buddy of mine bought an IROC R/T from a Dodge dealership in Fort Wayne, IN. Due to the year and the mileage, the car was still covered under the factory warranty. The car was beautiful! From what I can remember, it was black, grey leather seats, Infinity II with factory CD player and I believe it also had louvers (I don't know if the louvers were a factory install or aftermarket).

Due to a series of unfortunate events, my buddy was forced to give the car back to Chrysler Credit. A few months later, my friend and I went to a dealership for a mini Dodge Daytona owners club event. While we were there, we met up with a guy who had this huge dot matrix printout that contained the VIN numbers for all front drive Daytonas. Since my friend owned one, we were curious to know more about the car since it had a rather unusual VIN.

I don't really remember much about the VIN except that the last 6 digits of my buddies IROC R/T were 000003. He told us that Daytona 000001 was a base model, 000002 was a Daytona ES and that VIN number 000003 was the first IROC R/T built that year. I'm not 100% certain, but I believe he also said that VIN number ending with 000003 was not a 1993, but a 1992. If he's right, that means my friend owned the very first IROC R/T built.

A few years later, I struck up a conversation with a guy from around Terre haute Indiana. He was a mechanic at a dealership there and was also a big fan of IROC R/ts. After a brief description of the car, he told me that a friend of his in another town bought the car. He went on to say that the car was also a PVP pilot car.

Aside from this, I haven't been able to find any more information about the car. If the information is accurate, that means the dealership that sold the IROC R/T to my friend, sold the car as a 1993 when in fact the information we've gathered suggests its a 92. Also, I'd like to know if there is any truth to the claims that this car was a PVP pilot. I've looked around for information on IROC R/T pilot vehicles and have run into a brick wall at almost every turn. Finally, I would also like to know if the car is being driven right now and if so, what condition is it in.

Anyway, any help at all will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
