is this harmful?

was flipping through an elantras owners manual and it suggested that wiping dust from the exterior surface of a car will scratch the surface...what do y'all think. I usually use a microfiber to wipe dust away. The car is in a dusty environment and cant be washed everyday. It really doesn't need to be washed, it just has a little dust on it!

Re: is this harmful?

Be sure to use some showroom shine or detailers spray. Just something to so the cloth isnt dragging on the car. Wiping a dry cloth on a dusty car can scatch it.

Yes, dry wiping a car will scratch the paint. It may not be noticeable a first, but you'll see them eventually, the darker the car that easier they will show up. Especially in the sun.
