Parking lights/ brakes question

So a while ago I noticed that when I press on the brakes my car acts like i just turned on the parking brakes, i.e. all of the corner lights come on and the dash lights up. And when I turn on the lights it acts as if my brakes were on, i.e. the cruise control turns off and the gear shift solenoid actuates. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I think it might be just 2 wires that have be shorted but I have no idea.
I have a '93 Si with an auto tranny If it matters

Thanks for any help.
J.

Re: Parking lights/ brakes question

You could have a bad ground.

Also check the rear bulbs to make sure one of the brake/tail bulbs filaments has not came loose and shorting to the other filament inside the bulb.

Check the bulbs sockets.

Re: Parking lights/ brakes question

That was my problem. one of my brake lights had burned out and both negatives were touching, I knew it was a bad ground but I had no idea where to look.

Thanks,
