94 problems

got a 1994 cavalier 2.3 i think ?....but it runs like shit... a friend put it on a machine and it said the
#2 injector and cat. was bad changed all of the the injectors ran the same..... cut the cat off and ran a tube there where it was now it runs even worst... i thought it would cuz of the o2 senser.. but if thats the case does that mean the cat. was ok and maby the 02 was bad ?

I wish I had a machine that would tell me what part was bad!

What data did your friend use to determine that those parts were bad? The 2.4 doesn't run right without the cat on, and the 2.3 is almost the same engine, so removing it isn't a good test to see if it was plugged. What was the exhaust back pressure before you cut the cat off? Any codes? Not all codes turn on the check engine light. Did the problem start all at once or get worse over time? What's the fuel pressure?
