Radio buzzing problem

The OEM radio in my 2001 Dodge Caravan produces a loud pitched buzzing sound when I turn it on. If I turn it on/off about five or six times I can usually get it to work normally. I also noticed that this only happens on the FM stations as the AM stations always work. Also, sometimes when I swith back and forth between am/fm stations, the FM stations will work again. I pulled the radio out of the dash and everything looks good. Is an internal part going bad and is it fixible? Or is it time for a new aftermarket radio?

Re: Radio buzzing problem

I'm sorry to say its time for a new radio, or you can go to a junk yard and get a replacement.

Re: Radio buzzing problem

if you go to the junkyard, make sure you get the security code with it (if it has one) or you will be buying a useless radio
