Hi All –

I work with a law firm that’s filed suit against Hyundai regarding 1999 to 2004 models of the Sonata. The suit claims Hyundai failed to warn customers that the sub-frame lacks corrosion protection and owners are experience premature decay. Corrosion issues can lead to dangerous conditions if a car fails while in use.

For those of you who may not know, the sub-frame sits under the engine between the front wheels, serves as the sole steering support for the Sonata and anchors the front suspension.

there is a recall notice for this sub frame part, as well as the interior door handles.

my dealership explained that they will either replace the sub frame or drill holes in it to prevent water accumulation...
