Re: i need help

Did you change the coil? The SC pulley will turn with the engine running, even without a belt, otherwise how would the engine get air?

Re: i need help

Not likely that a "cylinder would go bad" over night! Was the engine running ok until this misfire started? Have you checked all vacuum lines for leaks or loose hose. Is the injector firing on #4 cylinder?

Re: i need help

You need to check for vacuum leaks and do a compression test. Since this car is a GS with the supercharged 3800, do you run 87 octane in it on a regular basis? If you did before you disconnected the supercharger belt, you may have damaged the #4 piston due to knock/detonation as this is the hottest running cylinder on these engine and most prone to detonation damage. If you have a blown piston, this will cause low engine vacuum and a hard brake pedal as well as a misfire.

Why is the supercharger belt off anyway?

Re: i need help

Pull the plug on #4 and check for oil foul. If the piston has damage, you would here a knocking noise. A compression gage would be available at most auto parts stores and is all you need to check compression. Follow the procedure included with the instructions!

Are you saying you're driving the car without the S/C belt or just mentioning your observation with the S/C belt off and the engine running?

As far as the 87 Octane gas goes, if he is driving the car w/o the S/C he doesn't need the higher octane gas since he isn't using any boost. Otherwise, yes higher octane gas is mandatory. Sadly, I can guarantee that many folks that drive those S/C cars use 87 octane as well. If you don't drive your car too hard you can get away with it, but I still don't recommend it. If it knocks though you are already causing damage to the engine.

FWIW I would also check the #1 plug and wire since they share the same coil. I have seen OBD-II report a misfire on the opposite cylinder before.

I would also try moving the coils around to see if the misfire follows. If it does the coil is bad.

Your brakes may be hard since the booster isn't getting enough vacuum due to the S/C not turning (if you are driving it that way).

Re: i need help

code 13- Oxygen sensor voltage stays between 0.35 and 0.55 volts for 30 seconds when the TPS signal was above 0.55 volts. The engine had been running for at least 40 seconds with an engine temperature above 110 F.

This code has nothing to do with a CKPS, so why did you change it?
