Hello first time post.

Hi,

I recently bought an 02 winnie with 110k.

Basically to get out of a car payment, and have something bigger than the Escape I got rid of.

I dont know why but I have really liked this car in the past few months I have had it.

Being high mile and unknown maintenence, we have become quite intimate. :lol

so far.
plugs wires
pads rotors, hardware
idler, tensioner serp belt
AC plumbing to the rear ac was rusted out
cracked coolant reservoir

And this weekend is a rack.

Ive used this forum for some tips here and there, and just wanted to say thanks.

Re: Hello first time post.

Give the General Windstar information sticky post a read.
I would change the Transmission fluid and filter, I have pictures that show the DIY process starting here....

Use a Mercon V rated fluid......takes about 13-15 quarts to completely flush the system.

I would also replace the power steering fluid....again, use Mercon V rated ATF.
You might consider installing a Magnefine filter on the low pressure hose that comes from the cooler (pipe in front of the radiator) to filter out any particles.

You are also due for a cooling system flush.....I think your year uses G-05 coolant.....you could check your manual......some FORDs still used "traditional green" in 2002.
The G-05 has a pale yellow color.
I would use one of those 2 types......not a "silicate free" "all makes and models" or "Dexcool" coolant.

I like to take mine in to my trusted shop for a "safety inspection" once a year.
Otherwise, a proper alignment includes a good shakedown of the front end.
