Re: 2000 sunfire

It will be a nightmare trying to install power everything. Yes there are door poppers, but honestly.... just live with what you have, or buy a new car.

Re: 2000 sunfire

You could try www.car-part.com

The cost will add up quick, but they have had every part I've ever looked for.

Re: 2000 sunfire

yup, www.car-part.com

Call up a yard and tell them you want the entire car's wiring harness and all the switches etc... going to run you a pretty penny.

Windows will be an issue tho.

Re: 2000 sunfire

I disagree about this being a "nightmare", but it's certainly a lot of work. Done properly (to look like it had it from the factory), you have to install new ends in the blank spots in the fuse panel, run wires under the dash into the center console, run wires back out of the console, under the dash, and through the black bendy things where the doors open. I'm not sure where the wires are run from the factory, but I assume you would have to remove the entire dash to use the harness that comes with all the parts. Considering that, I would cut the harness where it's convenient and run new wires up under the dash and then solder the new wires to the old harness pieces. This is also assuming that the power window motor/regulator will fit in place of the manual crank and regulator. I would guess the holes are probably there, but you won't know that until you get the power stuff and try to fit it into place.

I may be wrong, but I think the power door locks are controlled by the BCM on the '00s, I know my '04 is. It doesn't have lock buttons, but the doors lock when I start moving and unlock when I take the key out of the ignition cylinder. It won't have the wires for the lock/unlock at the BCM. If you're good at electrical stuff, you could figure out a way to do it. I think I know how, but I'm not opening up that "can of worms" for you
