1993 Town and Country wont start cam sensor replaced

My 1993 Town and Country cut out a couple times about 8 months ago. I replaced the Cam and Crankshaft sensors at that time the crankshaft sensor looked like it was rubbing the crankshaft. It solved the problem and ran fine until this week.

Same problem appeared again it cuts out but starts back up again. I replaced the crankshaft sensor it looked fine and engine ran well after replacement. When I touched the camshaft sensor plug it killed the engine. I found I was able to stop the engine by giggling the plug. I replaced the camshaft sensor. The engine never fired again after the camshaft sensor was replaced. There is no sign of spark. Should the engine have spark if the cam sensor isn’t working? Plug contacts are clean so I suspect there may be a broken wire in the wiring harness side of the plug. Is there any way to check the plug going to the camshaft sensor? It’s a 3.3L engine minimal corrosion, well maintained with 120k miles. I will appreciate any thoughts on this.

I ran a test on the ignition. With a multimeter hooked to the B+ terminal of the coil input connector I get one blip when ignition is turned on, nothing when cranking. I have 8vdc at the cam sensor. I checked the CMS plug that initially killed the engine and couldnt find any break in continuity.

It sets code 11

Re: 1993 Town and Country wont start cam sensor replaced

Yahoo got it going again with the help of Wells Mfg. Co tech support. If anyone gets this mess here is what happened. I had dual problems the car died with all the symptoms of a camshaft sensor failing. I went to replace the camshaft sensor the replacement was defective because it only had a .015 air gap that should have been .029-.030. +/- .005 and the engine is dead as a door nail. Second problem is the camshaft sensor plug is very poorly designed for a major system. Any difference in the plug pin diameter will cause break of contact from side to side movement. Im considering clipping and soldering this plug to eliminate the connector contact risk.
