94 S10 temperature gauge

Hi my temperature gauge is not working. I changed the water temp sensor and it's still not working. What else can I troubleshoot?

Re: 94 S10 temperature gauge

Make sure you changed the single wire sensor not the one for the computer.
Unplug and use a short piece of copper wire and ground the plug the gage should be pegged. If it doesn't peg ohm the wire from the gage to the sensor if its good check the ground for the dash otherwise install a new gage.

the temp sensor is the passenger side of 4.3L engine,,single wire..maybe just a loose /bad connection....see if the sensor to ground reads a few hundred ohms when hot...at 40deg its 3800ohms approx..
