Solenoids

Hi all, i just finished replacing the tie rods, ball joints, now i'am on to the next thing in my to do list. Just wonderning if anyone can help. I searched the forums first, but i haven't found the answer. I want to test/swap my shift solenoid in my 91 pontiac 3.1

If your going through the trouble of swapping it, you might as well replace it while your in there.

You could probably measure the resistance of all your solonoids at the trans electrical connector. I just dont know what wires do what.

Maybe someone else will be able to help you out.

Thanks your probably right, i haven't been down this road before so testing the connectors where you said is what i was looking for. Where is the trans elec connector located? The solenoid i assume i can get at after i drop the pan?

I am not exactly sure where the electrical connector is, somewhere on the drivers side of the trans. To get at the solonoids you'll have to remove the drivers axel and trans side cover.
