Rendezvous blower just stopped..resistor? Help..which fuse?

Need some help here guys. Wife's '02 Rendezvous blower fan just quit while driving. Could it be the resistor? Problem is all the threads say the resistor will only affect some of the fan speeds, and not all.

I don't have a manual so I have no idea what fuse it could be in the console.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well I guess I'm on my own with this one.

I pulled the fan out and bench tested it, it worked perfect. I tested the prong and it looks like I have power to it. So why is it not working? Could it infact be the resistor? I'm not even sure where that little sucker is. Could it be the little box inside the fan housing with wires going to it? Help...

You may have a blower control module that failed rather than individual resistors, it depends on the system; and yes, if it has a control module, it is the "little box located in the fan housing". No solution other than replacement.

This blower control module you speak of, would this just be another term for a resistor? Or would I have both. I have the dual zone climate control system and I've read that they don't have a resistor with coils like most vehicles. Am I making any sense?
Mine has a piece of finned aluminum with a circuit board attached.

Does the module you have look like the one below? If so, it is the only blower speed control you have and it is better known as a "self-contained resistor module".

Yup, that's the one. When I test it, I have contenuaty (sp?) on 2 of the 4 prongs if that makes sense. I'm gonna see if the local GM dealer has a new one I can test before buying one. I'm hoping it's my problem.

Check ebay; do a search for "Buick blower control module". You can usually find one for 1/2 the dealer cost.

Great news. Fixed. Thanks alot for all your help Hot Z28!!

Local dealers wanted $194 bucks for a new module. I just pulled it apart and resoldered the board. Cost...$0.00 nice. Took a bunch of time getting it all figured out though.

I'm sure it's in the same location as mine. Passenger side under the glove box, pull the plastic cover off and you will see the blower. 3 screws and the blower is out, then just behind it you will see the resistor. Another 3 screws and it's out also.

Be sure you bought the right part because they make different resistors for the different climate control options.

Just ask if ya need more help.
