1990 Accord tranny

I have a 1990 honda accord. the automatic transmission makes a grinding noise in reverse. If i go into reverse then into neutral back into reverse the noise is no longer there. it is intermitent. can anybody please help me. transmission does not slip at all and shifts very smooth thanks
