?????????s again

ive got a stock 99gtp w/86000 on her .. and dont have alot of money so im trying to go cheap as possible? i have the chance to get a 3.25 pulley but i keep hearing that i will need a intercooler to run that small of a pulley? T/F?????? Now since i only have 240hp stock i want 300hp give or take. what are the main things i will need and when i mean the things i need i mean only things i need to get close if not more................ because im tired of getting beat by v8s like trans am/camaros/gxp,s/ and if i cant beat them at least i will be able to keep nose to nose with them

You don't need an intercooler but you will need other mods. CAI, Headers, High flow exhaust, reprogrammed PCM and etc. If you want to change pulleys a 3.4 is the first step for a mostly stock engine but the above mods are almost a necessity even for that size pulley. A 3.25 is too much for a totally stock engine with a stock exhaust.

A 3.25" pulley is a bad idea without a host of other supporting mods which are not "tight budget" friendly. You can get near 300 hp at the crank and be much more daily driver friendly with a 3.4" pulley, colder heat range plugs, a 180 t-stat and a preprogrammed PCM, along with opening up the exhaust with a u-bend delete and/or hi flow cat.
