Turn Signal Combination Switch
A recent glitch on my 95 1500 Sub... a clicking sound is comin from under the dash, similar to the sound that the flasher unit makes when a bulb has gone bad (rapid clicking, as opposed to slower turn-signal activation sound). It activates on a random basis, and usually stops for a short time when the turn signal switch is activated, then will return again.
My local service shop gave two independent opinions that the culprit is the combination switch on the steering column, not the (simple to replace and really inexpensive to replace) turn signal flasher. Any ideas? |

Re: Turn Signal Combination Switch
MT,
It looked promising. I picked up the switch from the local GM dealer earlier, pulled the old one, slathered the new one with the supplied grease and installed it. Unfortunately, the relay ticking continues. What now? The prospect of a 400$ plus combo switch replacement is not appealing, as the truck is 14 years old w/210k miles. |

Re: Turn Signal Combination Switch
A good wiring diagram and volt/ohm meter or a good test light and Proper testing should show the problem.
