problem with crank
hi my name is Brian. I am currently having back problems os a friend was helping me fix my truck. It is a 1993 chevy k1500 4x4 with 5.7 350 v-8 We replaced the timmimg chain and when he was putting the harmonic balancer on he used the bolt to drive it back with a impact and stripped the bolt. Does anyone know if this can be fixed by retapping the hole or can a heli coil be used. I cannot afford to replace crank and can't do that myself Please help

Re: problem with crank
Try running a tap in it and use a little longer bolt to get it started then switch to a shorter bolt to finish it.
