O5 rear hatch lock

Hi all
1st I am under a new name, for some reason I tried to recover my password 3 times, and did not receive an e mail, so I regestered again
I was kappy1, anyway good to be back...

my issue is with the rear hatch lock, it seams like the electronic lock
works, I can hear it, but it will not latch, when I shutthe hatch it just bounces and will not engage, luckily I finally got it to lock, And will not open it again, looks like the lever does not stay in the lock position, when I hit the lock on my remote, like something broke inside, probably plastic,

it looks like I have to take the panel off and see what happened, anyone
know what maybe broke in the lock itself, and can I buy a part at an auto store, or is this something I may have to get at the dealer..
hopefully I can just get the part, and not the whole machanisim.

I did a search and did not find much here,, I will post back, when I figure this out, maybe help someone else with the same issue..

bought this truck used 1 year ago, and I have had alot of issues,
cost me 1,300 for inspection, because of emmison error codes,
had to get secondary air injection pump, and relay, air injection check valve. cam shaft actuator valve, the pump was full of water, this sits on the frame under the passenger seat, nice place

k thanks for any help Rick

Having same issue! It started when one of the hatch shocks needed replacing. It would close cocked and latch wouldn't line up correctly and hit a plastic inside the locking mechanism. You figure out how to get it open without breaking anything let me know.

I don't know if you're looking for replacement parts or not, but gmpartsdirect.com might be a good resource for you!
